Studied signal transduction mechanisms in nitrate responsive gene expression using a functional genomics approach.  Generated and analyzed high throughout gene expression data from rice to predict and validate potential targets for crop improvement and nutrient efficiency.

  • Set up a  functional genomics laboratory and delivered committed objectives on time, and within a budget (of ~ USD 50,000).

  • Successfully negotiated and led an Academia-Industry partnership to perform the first whole genome plant microarray in India.

  • Optimized a novel method for isolation of high quality RNA from cyanobacteria.
